Join CMM Cares for a day on the course at their Annual Charity Golf Outing taking place on June 6, 2022! The event will be held at St. George’s Golf & Country Club in East Setauket, NY. This 18 hole golf facility was built in 1917 by the famed architect Devereux Emmet. St. George’s is known for its firm fairways, small greens, and numerous bunkers.
The afternoon shotgun will be followed by a cocktail reception to recognize their 2022 Community Leader Honoree, Sal Ferro, CEO of Alure Home Improvements. Sal was named Long Island’s Most Philanthropic Person by The Long Island Press and was presented the Harry Chapin Humanitarian Award for Community Service by the Long Island Association.
Ticket sales and sponsorships will benefit CMM Cares, Inc., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, which helps support and bring joy to Long Island families facing unexpected challenges.

By rethinking hiring practices and diversifying the workforce to include neuro-diverse individuals within the hiring process, these shortages can be alleviated. Senior Partner Christine Malafi will speak on a panel to discuss the many benefits of hiring a member of Long Island’s Autistic population and helping solve these staffing challenges.

The Marijuana Regulation and Taxation Act (MRTA) legalizes cannabis for adults 21 years of age or older in New York State. This legislation brings questions regarding cultivation, licensing, and employment policies. Join the Miller Business Center for a program led by Arthur Yermash, CMM Partner and head of our Cannabis Law practice, where he will examine the regulations surrounding the cultivation of cannabis plants for personal use and the different cannabis licenses that exist.
Additionally, this program will discuss employment law issues and policies surrounding cannabis and the workplace such as hiring and firing concerns, what actions regarding cannabis employers can and cannot prohibit, as well as drug testing and cannabis impairment.
