Jeffrey Basso represents business owners and partners, corporations, corporate officers, shareholders, and investors in a variety of litigation matters in state and federal court involving business and contractual disputes. An aggressive litigator, Jeff has vast experience prosecuting and defending matters on behalf of clients in actions involving employment contracts, non-compete agreements, trade secrets, fiduciary duty, breach of contract, hour and wage disputes, real estate transactions, investments, and construction matters.
Jeff’s successful track record spans numerous industries. Representative matters include the defense of a Long Island metal fabrication company in a hostile workplace/discrimination lawsuit (resulting in the dismissal of all claims), the pursuit of unpaid funds owed to an information technology company (resulting in 98% reimbursement to the client), and the defense of a large catering company in a wage and retaliation dispute (resulting in the court’s refusal to reinstate the former employees). Jeff has also achieved substantial monetary settlements on behalf of his clients, including an international laser manufacturer owed significant funds by a European company and an estate executor pursuing a federal ERISA litigation.
Jeff is also experienced in representing clients in business divorce matters, including the negotiation of creative strategies to divide assets, as well as business divorce litigation. Jeff’s litigation practice also includes appellate work, and he is well versed in cooperative and condominium law.
