Campolo, Middleton & McCormick (CMM), a law firm that is headquartered in Ronkonkoma, has expanded its landlord-tenant and real estate practice groups with the merger of the Smithtown-based Law Offices of Michael N. McCarthy. Details of the merger, which the firm announced earlier this month, were not disclosed.

McCarthy, who now serves as special counsel at CMM, represents Class A building property management companies in landlord–tenant disputes. He has handled hundreds of eviction cases, lease audits and related litigation, bringing extensive experience in the challenges faced by property owners.

“This strategic merger enables us to strengthen our already robust real estate and landlord-tenant practice groups, allowing us to provide even more comprehensive services to our clients,” Patrick McCormick, CMM’s senior partner and general counsel, said in a written statement.

The firm’s landlord-tenant practice includes McCormick, McCarthy and Richard DeMaio, a partner at the firm. Representing Class A building property managers, the practice provides guidance on tenant-related disputes, helping clients protect investments while minimizing disruption. The firm also leverages established relationships with process servers, movers, and local officials to manage cases efficiently from start to finish.

The firm’s real estate practice represents commercial buyers and sellers, landlords and tenants, brokers, developers, architects, contractors, municipalities and financial institutions. The practice handles real estate transactions, development and land use matters, including commercial leases, acquisitions and sales, construction and financing, and zoning and regulatory approvals.
