CMM’s Jonathan (Jack) Harrington, a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Reserve, has been recalled to active duty and will be deployed to Afghanistan in support of Operation Resolute Support. Harrington, an intelligence officer, will deploy this fall and is scheduled to return mid-2019.  Like most members of the Reserve or National Guard, Harrington spends one weekend a month and a minimum of two weeks per year training or drilling in support of the Navy Reserve.

With respect to his upcoming deployment, Harrington said, “It will be hard to say goodbye to my wife, two children, and the community I love for such a long time, but I have also made a commitment to our country and I’m proud and happy to serve.”

Harrington is Counsel at CMM, leading the firm’s Cybersecurity and International Regulation, Enforcement, and Compliance teams. CMM Managing Partner Joe Campolo, a veteran who served in the U.S. Marine Corps, said, “We are incredibly proud of Jack and fully support his deployment and service. We hope his mission is a success and that he returns home to us and Sarah safe and sound.”

Harrington appreciates the support from CMM: “Sailors, soldiers, and airmen in the Reserve face unique challenges.  In addition to our civilian careers, we have year-round responsibilities to our services and country that take us away from our jobs and families.  It makes all the difference in the world to work for a company like CMM that supports and appreciates my military service.”

In honor of Harrington’s service, CMM has chosen to support veterans for the firm’s inaugural CMM Cares volunteer initiative on July 26. CMM volunteers will help garden, plant, mulch, trim bushes, and build newly purchased outdoor patio sets at two homes on the South Shore of Long Island owned by United Veterans Beacon House, an organization that provides temporary and permanent residence for U.S. military veterans and their families. Teaming up with Gary Bercarich and Gary B. Home Improvements, CMM will also rebuild, sand, and paint the porches, giving residents a tranquil outdoor space to enjoy. The afternoon will culminate with a catered lunch for all volunteers, UVBH staff, and residents. Learn more about how you can support UVBH here.
