Blasberg counsels individuals and businesses in general tax, tax controversy, and estate planning matters, offering sophisticated solutions drawn from her wealth of experience in these areas. She has represented clients in the real estate, finance, fashion, and publishing industries as well as hotel owners, public utilities, contractors, and many other fields.
CMM’s Trusts & Estates, Tax & Elder Law practice group is dedicated to protecting our clients’ assets and helping them plan for their families’ future. Blasberg brings to the team her significant experience handling tax controversy cases including matters before the IRS, New York State Department of Taxation, and the New York City Department of Finance. Representative matters include tax audits, appeals, conciliation conferences, Tax Court litigation, residency and responsible person audits, offshore voluntary disclosures, installment agreements, penalty abatement requests, and offers in compromise.
Blasberg advises clients, including individuals with extensive commercial real estate holdings, on simple and complex estate planning matters. She also optimizes estate plans to avoid any unnecessary taxes being owed by the heirs. Her practice includes the drafting of wills, health care proxies, and General Durable Powers of Attorney. She also counsels clients on estate freeze techniques, trusts, and public charity and private foundation counseling.
Blasberg previously worked at law firms in Long Island and New York City. A graduate of the Catholic University of America and Duke Law School, Blasberg also holds an L.L.M. in Tax Law from New York University School of Law. The Stony Brook resident is a member of the Stony Brook Children’s Hospital Task Force, the Ward Melville Heritage Organization, and the Stony Brook Rotary Club.
