Joe CampoloManaging Partner

(631) 738-9100 ext. 301

Joe Campolo advises business owners, executives, and board members on legal and business strategies and negotiates on their behalf.  Joe is described by the press as “a fearless lawyer willing to tackle big and complex cases.” His deep knowledge of the inner workings of the corporate universe gives him a unique advantage in both complex transactions and litigation, and as a result he is routinely retained in “bet the company” legal matters by companies large and small.

Joe has played major roles in numerous matters widely reported in the media, including representing high-level executives from public companies before the SEC, defending national not-for-profits under investigation from the New York Attorney General’s office, obtaining a verdict against sub-brokers on RICO claims in a major Ponzi scheme litigation, and spearheading several actions finding the MTA payroll tax unconstitutional.  Additional representative matters include representing real estate developers in multimillion dollar IDA projects, technology companies in both buy-side and sell-side acquisitions, prominent physician groups moving healthcare systems, and defending a medical device company in Delaware Chancery Court in a patent infringement lawsuit.  Joe also defends large companies in Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and other employment-related matters including class actions, prevailing wage issues, and discrimination matters.  He has argued appeals on critical issues in the Appellate Division, the Second Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Delaware Supreme Court, and has co-authored several petitions for certiorari to the United States Supreme Court.

Prior to starting the firm, Joe served honorably in the United States Marine Corps.  He has practiced law at some of Long Island’s largest law firms and served as in-house General Counsel to a national technology company, where he was ultimately promoted to President.  In those roles, he was responsible for the company’s international growth and gained invaluable experience negotiating and closing all types of business agreements and transactions, raising private equity, and managing complex litigation.

In addition to his legal work and community involvement, Joe has built a reputation as a skilled and thought-provoking interviewer of prominent newsmakers and personalities. He strives to bring out the personal experiences of interviewees that have shaped their lives and views.  View a list of Joe’s recent interviews here.

Joe is a member of St. George’s Golf & Country Club in Stony Brook, New York.  In addition to his legal work and community involvement, he is also an Executive Producer of “Tribute,” an award-winning short film.
